The following is intended to help you and your attorney in drafting a bequest that satisfies your interests. As you consult your attorney on the selection of appropriate wording to reflect your own goals and intentions regarding UC Riverside, be sure our organization’s correct legal name appears in all final documents as:

“UC Riverside Foundation, PO Box 5068, Riverside, CA 92517-5068, a California nonprofit corporation, or its successor, Federal Tax Identification Number: 23-7433570.”

General Bequest of a stated sum of money may be worded:

“I give to UC Riverside Foundation, PO Box 5068, Riverside, CA 92517-5068, a California nonprofit corporation, or its successor, Federal Tax Identification Number 23-7433570 [insert here the exact dollar amount].”

Specific Bequest
If you are considering making an outright gift to UC Riverside through the UC Riverside Foundation, we recommend the following language:  

“I hereby give, devise, and bequeath (a) the sum of $____ or (b) ____ % of my estate to UC Riverside Foundation, a California nonprofit public benefit corporation, located at P.O. Box 5068, Riverside, CA 92517-5068, Federal Tax ID: 23-7433570, for UC Riverside’s general use and purpose.”

If you would like to donate specific personal property or real estate, please contact our planned giving team for assistance in documenting your intentions. 

Percentage Bequest 
If you are considering making a bequest of a percentage of your estate to UC Riverside, we recommend the following language: 

“I hereby give, devise, and bequeath % of my total estate, determined as of the date of my death, to UC Riverside Foundation, a California nonprofit public benefit corporation, located at  P.O. Box 5068, Riverside, CA 92517-5068, Federal Tax ID: 23-7433570, for UC Riverside’s general use and purpose.

Residuary Bequest

“I hereby give, devise, and bequeath to  UC Riverside Foundation,  a California nonprofit public benefit corporation, located at P.O. Box 5068, Riverside, CA 92517-5068, Federal Tax ID: 23-7433570,  [ALL OR A PERCENTAGE] of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate to be used for UC Riverside’s general use and purpose.” 

Contingent Bequest 

“If (primary beneficiary) does not survive me, then I hereby give, devise, and bequeath to UC Riverside Foundation, a California nonprofit public benefit corporation, located at P.O. Box 5068, Riverside, CA 92517-5068, Federal Tax ID: 23-7433570, [ALL OR A PERCENTAGE] of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate to be used for UC Riverside’s general use and purpose.” 

Restricted Bequests
